LOUIS, MISSOURI OCTOBER 10-11, 1974 SPONSORED BY ST, LOUIS CHAPTER OF UNITED FARM WORKERS (UFW) CIVIL UNREST On October 4, 1974, an article appezred in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which is a daily newspaper with general interest, indicating that two men were jailed in St. Louis at their own request after being arrested in a protest at the Target Store at 8020 Olive Street Road, St. Louis County, Missouri. The two men were arrested on charges of trespassing and were held overnight at the University City, Missouri, Jail. These men were part of a group of about 40 supporters of the United Farm Workers (UFW) who had been passing out leaf- lets at the Target Store and urging shoppers to refrain fron buying certain brands of grapes, lettuce, and wine, The arrests were made at the University City Police Station after the protest had ended. The group of protesters had marched to the police station to ask why they had been photograpbed while talking to customers in the Target Store. Police said members were photographed after they re- fused to identify themselves after attempts to question then at the store.
