RANDOLPH AND FRANKLIN: STREETS, DECEMBER 17, 1966 ; INFORMATION “CONCERNING ra On Dec 966 advise ate pickets by Genaro Lara, a representative of the National Farm Workers’ Association (NFWA), 1300 South Wabash, Chicago, picketed Zimmermann's Cut-Rate Liquor Store, Incorporated, 240 West Randolph, protesting the store's sale of wine dis- tributed by the California Wine Association (CWA), Delano, Caiifornia. Lara (records of the Chicago Office contain no infor- mation identifiable with Lara) requested the store manager to Sign a petition agreeing to no longer purchase wines from CWA. The manager refused. The pickets carried signs-such as "Farm Workers' denied bargaining rights” and "Farm Workers' made to unionize." The demonstration commenced at approximately 10 a.m. on December 17, 1966, and ended at 3. p.m, The demonstration was peaceful and no arrestS were made. The following individuals were agvised on December 17, 1966, of the above: Mr. N. M. Karzen, Assistant United States Attorney; U.S. Secret Service, both at Chicago; and Gay 1l3th MI Group, at Evanston.
