memorandum setting forth information pertaining to the Fa
Workers Strike situation in Rio Grande City, Texas.

On the afternoon of 7/7/67, Mrs. Stegall contacted ,
Mr. Donahoe in Mr. DeLoach's Office and stated that Marvin
Watson, Special Assistant to the President, is under the
impression that the FBI investigated and prepared a report
on a series of incidents involving farm workers in
Rio Grande City, Texas. Mrs. Stegall was advised by
Mr, Donahoe that he would check gn it and a memorandum would
be sent over,
Enclosed memorandum to be furnished Mrs. Stegall
sets forth information as to the background of the strike
situation in Rio Grande City, Texas, which had its origins
in the Southern California area when thd National Farm
Workers Association in September, 1965, joined a strike
against local grape growers. Inquiries conducted by the
Bureau disclosed that the National Farm Workers Association
