8/21/69 AIRTEL TO: DIRECTOR, FBI b3 FROM: SAC, WFO (80-76) b7E MURDER OF SHARON TATE, ET AL, in Los Angeles, California ee COMPLAINANT-HARRIS PICKENS DAWSON TnI POLICE CO-OPERATION At 10:15 a.m., 8/21/69, HARRIS PICKENS SON III, born 1/4/43, contacted WFO by telephone a us arrived from Massachusetts to home of his sister, Mrs. MAURICE CUSAK telephone b6 that he had been advised by "someone," not otherwise ”’° identified, that the FBI wanted to talk to him about captioned murders; that the"'someone" allegedly heard this mentioned over the TV and radio news. DAWSON said he resided in ios Angeles, at the Home of VIOTECK FRYKOWSKI, one of the victims, from about 2/1/69 to about 5/25/69; that he visited in the TATE residence, using their swimming pool, on many occasions. He stated he personally knew all victims; that it was his belief this is the reason the FBI wanted to talk to him. DAWSON claimed he has not been in Los Angeles since about 5/25/69, however, he would cooperate with the FBI or the Los Angeles Police Department in furnishing what information he knows about victims. DAWSON emphasized the fact he did not want his name injected into any public statements with respect to his willingness to co-operate.
