GARCIA MENOCAL stated that. the interview would clarify the position of the anti-CASTRO movement which situation is virtually unknown to the Mexican populace at large since Mexico continues to maintain diplomatic relations with Cuba and has furnished no material assistance to the Cuban exiles, In this regard, Mr. DE LA TORRIENTE explained that his organization and to his knowledge all other Cuban exile groups would not consider attempting to meunt an actio¢ aggression against Cuba from Mexican territory. He advised that the latter furnished him information to the effect that several Cuban exiles who were considered to be pro-CASTRO had held a meeting at Gainsville, Florida, a few days before a student demonstration which resulted in some degree of violent activity at the University of Florida, Gainsville.
