Title: RESTRICTING CASES IN ACS
Synopsis: Field offices are authorized to restrict cases being
handied under the 58, 194, 197B and 244 classifications -in
Automated Case Support (ACS).
Reference: 66F-HQ-A1307721 Serial 176 ;

Details: On 10/03/2001, referenced communication advised that
cases were to no longer be restricted or withheld from uploading
in ACS without approval of the Assistant Director of either the
Criminal Investigative Division (CID), the National Security
Division or the Counterterrorism Division depending upon the
classification of the case. Since this policy change, the CID
has reviewed the continued need by the field to restrict some
types of sensitive case classifications. Based upon this review,
Special Agents in Charge {SAC) are authorized to restrict in ACS
investigations in the following case classifications:
