The article reported that Kaney, born
February 18, 1936 in Bath, South Carolina, received his
Associate of Arts Degree at St. Bernard's College in Cullman,
Alabama, and his bachelor of Arts Degree at St. Mary's
University, Baltimore, Maryland, He completed his four-year
theological course at St. Mary’s.
The article set out the following information
regarding Kaney ard his activities prior to this time:
“Ordained in 1960 at St. John's
Cathedral, Charleston, the priest was
stationed at St. Andrew's Church, Myrtle
Beach, Blessved Sacrament, Nativity Parish
and Divine Redeersr in Charleston and St.
Anthony Church in Florence before coming to
our Lady of the Rosary in 1965.
"He was Catholic hospital chaplain
for Creenville for a fiveemonth period in
1968; served as Furman Newman chaplain in
