ACTIVITIES OF CALC On January 19, 1973, Special Agents (SAS) of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) observed a Mass and demonstratian snonspred by CALC condemning United bo i ee de od States involvement in Southeast Asia; the further purpose of this peace demonstration was to demand total withdrawal of United States troops from Vietnam. In order to Gramatize their point, representatives of CALC called for individuals to go to Washington, D. C., on January 20, 1973, to participate in demonstrations opposing President NIXON's inauguration on that date, Reverend DANIEL BERRIGAN, well known anti-war activist priest, gave the sermon at the above peace mass, which was celebrated at the Church of the Holy Family, 315 East 47th Street, NYC, NY. Immediately after this Mass, a@ rally for peace was held at DAG HAMMASKOLD PLAZA, directly across the street from Holy Family Church. Two noted speakers at this rally were EILEEN EAGAN and Sister MARY LUKE TOBIN, both of whom were introduced as national directors of CALL. In the February 6, 1973 edition of the "New York Times," a daily NY newspaper, there was an article headlined, “AMNESTY STRATEGY PARLEY SET FOR PARIS." This article reported, among other things, that TOD ENSIGN, a lawyer for the Safe Return Committee (SRC), announced at a news conference on February 5, 1973 in NYC that representatives from CALC would be present at a strategy meeting to be heldin Paris, France from February 19-February 22, 1973. The purpose of this meeting was to form stratercy to move Congress to pass legisila- mee wai oe.
