The following references in the file captioned “Clergy
and Laymen €oncerned About Vietnam" (CALCAV)” contain information
pertaining to the activities of Coretta King in connection with the
CALCAV, during the period February 1969-June, 1970, in Washington,D.C.
The CALCAV held an Educational-Action Project at the Metropolitan
A.M.E. Church, Washington,D.C., during February 3-5, 3969. On 2/5/69
the CALCAV sponsored a march from the A.M.E. Church, led by King, to
the Justice Department, where King spoke against the war in Vietnam.
In June, 1970 King was a co-chairman of the CALCAV. She was alsoa
sponsor of the National Council to Repeai the Draft, organized
through the efforts of CALCAV and other groups.

The following references in the file captioned "Racial
Matters" pertain to the civil rights activities of Coretta King, a
national civil rights leader, from April, 1968-July, 1970, in Alabama,
Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. King participated in marches
and affairs sponsored by the SCLC, including activities on behalf of
striking hospital workers in Charleston, 3.C., attempting to organize
a Negro Union. She was to lead a march in Memphis, Tenn. on behalf
of striking sanitation workers. King spoke at the 13th anniversary
meeting of the Montgomery Improvement Association in Montgomery. King
was invited to Madison, Wisc. by welfare demonstrators and was also
invited to appear on a program in Washington, D.C., commemorating
Washington, D.C. residents killed in Vietnam. King was an iniltator
of a petition protesting the .genocide of black America and others,
