In attendance other than Deputy Attorney General Kleindienst were Assistant Attorney General Will R. Wilson. of the Criminal Division and Assistant Attorney General Robert C, Mardian of the Internal Security Division, Inspecto George C. Moore, Section Chief of the Racial Intelligence. Section, Domestic Intelligence Division, accompanied me and gave those present a rundown of the highlights of the overall racial extremist picture in the country today, Mr, Kleindienst stated he was quite impressed with the intelligence the FBI was developing in the black extremist ghey and certainly recognized the threat that these political terrorists represented especially as to kidnapings, assassi- nations, and other such acts which could shake the country’, In this regard, he specifically voiced his concern as tod:the current racial undercurrents which could spontaneously erupt into riots if provided with catalytic action similar to that of the assassination of Martin yepSag King in 1968, pe 2- o¢o52— OF Kleindienst further took note of the fact that Mrs. coretniCking likely would appear as a speaker before the forthcoming massive peace demonstration here in Washington, D.C., on April 24, 1971,\and if she is not given adequate security, extremist elements could be provided with a target which could kick things off. Mr. Kleindienst thereupon instructed Mardian to'make certain that the Department's overall plans regarding the April 24th demonstrations provided for adequate police pro- tection off Mrs. King.
