Bureau Agents who observed the activity of the civil rights
movement. in Selma, Alabama which’ pertained to the registration of
Negro voters advised that on 2/4/65-Mrs. Martin Luther King and Mrs.
Ralph Abernathy appeared at the Browns Chapel, AME Church. During ©
their stay at the church they contacted several civil rights leaders
and indicated that they would attempt to see their husbands who were
in the city jail.
Records of the Selma Police Department revealed that Martin
King and Ralph Abernathy were arrested on 2/1/65 and charged with
failure to obey an order of an officer and violation of the parade.’

Angeles, it was announced that the Women's Strike for Peace (WSP)

article entitled "Mrs. King Asks Women To Heip In Rights Fight."
This article related that $50 members and guests of WSP attended
