Douglas et al.: Criminal Profiling from Crime Scene Analysis
CONCLUSION
Criminal personality profiling has proven to be a useful tool to law enforcement
in solving violent, apparently motiveless crimes. The process has aided signif-
icantly in the solution of many cases over the past decade. It is believed that
through the research efforts of personnel in the FBI’s National Center for the
Analysis of Violent Crime and professionals in other field, the profiling process
will continue to be refined and be a viable investigative aid to law enforcement.
