SAC, SEATTLE (164- 11/24/71 ASAC PAUL R. BIBLER UNENOW SUBJECT ; NORTHVEST AIRLIMNFS FLIGHT #305, 11/24/71 CAA ~- EXTORTION b6 Sea-Tac, called at approximately 3:22 PM, b7c 4/71. He said that a man was on Flight #305, a Boeing 727, from Portland to Seattle; that he had advised the pilot that he had a bomb in a hrief case and was requesting $200,900 and two parachutes by 5:00 PM. The plane was due in Seattle at 3:27 Pl and the UNSUB had told the pilot that no one was to meet the aircraft; no one was to approach the airplane; there were to be no FBI Agents and that he would advise them later what his flight plans were. I called the Bureau and furnished this information to ROBERT PETERSON on duty in Division 6. I told the Bureau I would call them back as soon as the plane vas on the ground. At approximately 10 minutes later, I was advised by Northwest that the plane was on the qround. | I called the Bureau again and told them the plane | was not going to land immediately, but that the pilot was going to circle the field until the hijacker made up | his mind just what he wanted done. The Bureau requested that we set up an open line with them and with the SAC when he arrived at the airport and this was done. At the request of HANK SHUTZ of the Bureau, I had agents telephone all of the Western FBI offices and have them have personnel standby to take care of this situation if their office was involved. A list of those offices are as follows: A Br, SU, SD, LA, SC, SF, PX, LV, PD, pie ans let -F0- Rw The passenger list contained the name of DAN COOPER as one of those aboard. During the course of the evening the Bureau came up with an identification record Sni n, who had an arrest for b7C in Washington. S&hUTZ requester At a PrB:k1lb va 2 DB Cooper-1554 b7D
