Qanuary J2, 1972 Dear Sir, wae This is in regard to the "DB. Cooper" case. You hae received by now $20 Portland Office ) my offer to duplicate the junp — ftom the 727, I know of course you will evigh the foots and decide chethon it ail be feasible and worthahile, I would apprectate this opportunity to say why 9 think it might be of help. In the first place it will prove within reasonable doubt whether "Cooper is alive or not", and by the way, 9 will sign a release that the 989 or airlines will not be responsible for anything that may happen to me, Also, the more facta you can accusilate from my jump wilh help you in preventing future attempts, I've noticed recently that the 747 Qunbo jet has a adequate exit door at the rear that clears the tail- stabalizers and other obstacles. 9 hwe no idea how slow a 7X7 can be flown but who knows the possibilities of jumping from the 747 or other jeote? ; I$ we were to duplicate "Coopers" jump, that is altitude, «peed, flight plan, weather conditions, etc. it seems to me that this month would be a good tine, ot Least for the sane temperatures and overcast, Bebmuary is usually a Hdain! but cold month, but March ould be a possibility also. And if, we were to take off fron Seattle, fly to 10,000 {t., open the, rear door over Woodland and then see how Long 9 can stand that 7 degree temperature before 9 have to jump, this would give you a fair idea of at Least where he might hae jusped. ly own opinion as a gumper tells me he didn't jamp over Woodland because the terrain is very bad for a daylight jump, and twice at hazardous at nite, I believe he fumed somewhere in the Willanette Valley, I would carry a C.BS, radio and other pertinent equip. for the jump and 9 would make it as safe as possible, Also there is another aspect of this junp and related activities that may ever, draw Cooper into the open (even though he may hae been 9 on tobinl | én Poatland from a we onnange demonstration before ot after the jump, and when "Cooper" finds out who 9 ana he even be there, 9 have arranged with a reporter from the Oregon Journal, to publicize this juap 40 "Cooper" will be informed of tt, nt may be a Long shot but what else have you got to go on? DB Cooper-5986 Well, thank you for your time and attention, 9 hope 9 may be of sone b6 b7C¢
