Re D. B. COOPER. Look on Elk Mountain, directly east of Keiso. The parachute can he seen from the air. Believeg@ he is or has been in a tree. Look high. Signed Warrenton, b6 Oregon." b7C | | stated a Portland Agent would contact b6 to determine his reliability and in addition, whether bic this information is of such a value to warrant further inves-— tigation. [[—“‘s’: WFrrr'ther advised that if it appears is a reliable source, the exact location of the para- chute, as well as where [____]was when he saw the parachute, would be determined; and this information would be forwarded telephonically to SA THOMAS J, MANNING in the Longview Resident Agency. [_——C—CédiS tant Af thee information was of no value, he would report this fact to Seattle Division by appropriate communication. On August 24, 1972, the above information was made available to SA THOMAS J. MANNING, and he advised that if it would be necessary to charter an aircraft in order to locate instant parachute, he has a contact that he has used in the past that would be available for low-flying aerial searches as would be required in this instance.
