Enclosed are xeroxed copies of newspaper articles
appearing on November 13, 1971, in The Seattle Times and The
Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
The enclosed newspaper articles describe the first
attempted skyjacking that involved the use of parachutes.
It is noted the skyjacking occurred approximately twelve days
before NORJAK.
The skyjacker was apprehended by the crew of an Air
Canada DC8. He was apprehended because he did not have a
clear plan of action when he boarded the plane. The following
is a quote from the newspaper aitticle appearing in The Seattle
Times: "As the hijacker was preparing to jump, the pilot .T".
jumped him and a purser came up behind him and let him have it
with a fire ax."
It is possible that unsub got the idea for his crime
by reading about the unsuccessful skyjacker of Air Canada's
Does.
ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
