SUB. - PARACHUTE INFORMATION
On May 29, 1973,
L rare Seattle, Washington, vised whilé vacationing in
1@ Mount St. Heléns “area lasit/ week, he observed a parachute
hanging from a tree approximately 75 feet in the air.
stated the parachute was frayed and had moss_on it; it ap-
peared to have been there for some time. To ]aescribea the
parachute canopy as orange and white in colormd he thought
the parachute had white shroud lines.
[stated the parachute was located near Mt.
St. Margaret in the Green River area. Near the tree was a
package of food similar to that type used by servicemen on
survival trips.
[_|stated he observed no harness on the para-
chute and there appeared to be a small container hanging from
the canopy.
In view of the fact that the Norjak parachute was not
orange and white in color and in view of the fact that several
weather balloons parachutes have been spotted in this area and
they are orange and white in color, no further investigation
will be conducted concerning this reported incident.
