2 SC 164-50 When he first got out of the Army, in June, 1971, he first traveled around the south, for about a month, before he came back home to California. He stayed with his mom for a while and then when he heard he was wanted in Alabama he moved in with her for awhile. He then moved down to the San Jose area and from there he went to San Fernando to work for the real estate company. He seemed to have money and he frequently rented airplanes. He was always a pretty good "spender", but she has no recollection of his having any unusual amount of money during the fall of 1971. He got his real estate license when he moved to San Jose, she thought, although the land promotion firm that hired him was in San Fernando.
