Mr Ladd was en route to Daytona Beach with’ his wife from their home in ,£teneva when the accident otcurred. Mrs Ladd was injured in the crash and is in the Semimole Memorial Hospital, Sanford” ’ At the time of his retire- ment from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1954, Mr Ladd, or Mickey, as he was known to his associates, was ‘considered the No 3 man im the organization He had the title of assistant to the direc- tor of the FBI.
