el In order, however, that you may be in a positien to properly
evaluate the decision of this Locel Board im refusing to grant such
~ permit ve deem it advisable to sutmit the following facts for your

registrant during bie processing at the Induction Station on Octebder
30, 1943 reported back to the Local Board that the registrant created a
disturbance at thelnduction Station, picked an argument with some ef the
. Goctors there, and generally by his own conduct impressed upon others

bd These reports have been consistent with the impression of
the Local Board Members, based upon his record, his personal contact
with them and all the other facts and circumstances in the case, that the
registrant was very reluctant to serve his country in the same way as
every other American zea who is subject to Selective Service.

materially. He requested a Pre-Induction Physical Examination which
was arranged for him. At this Pre-Induction Rramination given hin
at the Induction Station on September 27, 1943, he presented his evidence
ef this condition consisting of doctor's certificates and x-rays, but the
ete Local Board was advised that he was found acceptable and had he been
~ { . ordered for induction on that day, he would have been swera inte the
service, Then, a Notice of Induction fer October 20, 1943, was duly ~
mailed him on October 18, 1943, The induction was on a Saturday and the
; Local Board did not get the results until the following Thursday. But
wang in the meantine, the presse and radic were full ef reports that he was
nee rejected for a back condition and had been kept as a Medical Holdover
at Governor's Island for three days to check on that cendition. ‘The
