This article stated that the New York State Civil Rights Congress announced that prominent religious, civic, writers and professionals had wired Attcrney General MC GRATH to intervene to see that reasonable bail was set for the eleven Communist Party leaders. The "Daily Worker" for October 30, 199, Section 1, page 2, column 3, stated that a mass meeting was held on Cctober 27, 1949 at the St. Nicholas Arena in New York City “in defense of dignity", which was sponsored by the Nationai Council of the Arts, Sciences and Professions. This meeting was held in protest against the conviction of the eleven Communist Party Board members. The article stated that Doctor W.E.B.
