As of this writing three issues of the "War Worker®™ have been pub-
lished, The last tro issues have maintained the same conserva ctual
arrproach as did the first issue, Confidential Source T-5 and

each advised that he had never heard the name of
mentioned in connection with any subversive group, and each was
of the impression that thie paper was taking a very rational view toward the
Nerro problems. Each expressed the desire to see the peper a successful venture.
They did not kmow the financial] ba f the paper, but were under the inpres-
sion that it was money that had accumulated, told
Soiree T=5 that the subscriptions and street sales of the paper had bean very
successful end appeared confident that the paper would be able to
coutinue as & self-supporting suterpriss. It is noted, however, that in the
lest issue there was abeut one-half page of paid advertising. The “iar torker"
haz sold for ter cents 2 copy ard as of this time no evidence has bcen secured
wiich would indicate the extent of the circulation of this paper,
The most recent issue, which is for the second half of Ausvst, 1943,
ircludes letters/of commendation and good wishgs from a number of individuals

The editorials ard news stories of this issue were very conservative,
devoting most of the space to presenting the local housing probles, and to
pictures of Negroes and white employees working together at plants such as
