He told the crowd, most of whom the informant identified as Coamunists, that he did not become interested in politics until he took @ trip around various countries, including China, During the depression, MARZANI was forced to co on WPA.» tie denied his membership in the Communist Party and asserted that he had never been a member of the CP. He appeared to be optimistic and related __ he was happy that he had so many promipent defenders, mentioning bree ROOSEVELT, IDNRY WALLACE and ARTIUR-TAYS. He recommended one way of beating reactionaries: "to out breed them". Among others who shared the platform with NAwZANI were Judge EDAARD -TOTTEN, who has a long history of leftist activity, and PETER WARHOL, whe has recently been ousted fron the Upholsterers!
