The Polish ship satory returned to Lehavre on
Septender 8 from its cruise to the Sovict Union with some
760 French tourists.
In a report dated Septerber 30, 1955, Qj advisea
that the spectacular aspect of the Soviet zesture in permit-
ting what was, for the Soviet Union, such a mass influx of
Western tourists was not lost on the rrench press. Most of
tr.e Paris dailies and several magazines sent correspondents
with tre croup, end the correspondents not only faithfully
filed daily despatches during the trip, but proceeded to
write a series of lenrthy articles upon their return. “Thus
