T-3 advised on February 1h, 1951 that on Februery 7, 1951, cting of the Progressive Party was held in Duluth, ‘ainncsote, and emong the issucs that were taken up and discussed were: @ me (1) For the Progressive Party to work more closely with the Negro people in Duluth; (2) For the Proercssive Party to work with the rank and filc Negro workers; (3) To send a delegate to attend the next National .issociation for the .idvancement of Colored People meeting as a Progrcssive Farty leaders (4) For the Progressive Party to work for 2 State Fair Enployment Practices Conmission,. T+] advised on February 14, 1951 that on Fobruery 11, 1951, a dinncr was sponsored by the CP District Jo. 9 at the IOGT Hall in ‘dnneapolis, Kinncsota, The occasion was the cclebration of the birthday cf WILLLI! @. FOSTER, and the main speaker at the dinner was tr, PETTIS PERRY of New York, the Secretary of the National Nepro Cormissinn of the CP. Informant advised that Hr. PEMY devoted much of his speech to the Kogro problem and referred to the "sclling out of democracy in the State of Virginian where they have presently 23 nore Negroes lined up for cactution like the Hartinsville Scven." He also mentioned the scllinz out of democracy in Mississippi, alabama and Washington, D. C., and VA referred specifically to scercgation which exists in ‘ashineton, D.
