Levine specifically referred to the use of police dogs to disperse a crowd of Negroes who had gathered in Jackson, Mississippi, to protest prosecution of nine Negroes connected with a library sit-in demonstration. Levine protested fo od a " - segr egation practices followed in Mississippi and said "terrorism and official murder has been the policy of the officials."
