ing information was obteined at the morgue of the NEW YORK TIMES on
February 17, 1941 by Special Agent QS. Loup oy
An article in the Jamary 12, 1941 tseue of the NEW YORK
TIMES indicated that the officers of the AMERICAN RESCUE SHIP MISSION
are located in room 810 of the Fifth Avenue Building, New Tork City.
Since Novesber 1940 this mission has been raising funds for the pur~
pose of sending a ship to Marseilles to get Spaniab refugees interned
din France and then transport them to Vera Crus. .. - oe
. (The article further indicated that last sumer the Mexican
Government agreed to accept as many refugees as could be transported
and it was further set forth that the Mexican Government had agreed
te set aside “400,000 acres of land for this purpose and it was es
timated that eat |the time there were 150,000 refugees in France. —
