& Decenber 19, 1939
_ Page - 3
a I advised Mr. Listerman that Commander Gregory
& has sent two or three letters to 0.N.I. about this matter;
ee. that he apparently was completely fooled by the list of
people the organization had on their letterhead. I advtsed °
him that ali the information that Haskin claims to have
reported to us was never reported. I advised Ur. Listernan
to take a very firm stand in the matter and to show no
quarter, and to advise me at the completion of the interview.
wf I stated that another matter about which we are
““e concerned 18 the statement made by Haskin that we sabotaged
+2 G-2, and suggested to Mr. Listerman that he contact him and
-2 find out just what he meant by that statement. Mr. Listerman
~ stated that he questioned Haskin about that this morning,
: but Haskin would not say anything further about it. Haskin
am stated that G-2 withdrew from the Cleveland area, and that
ae is the reason he went in.

OS I advised Mr. Listerman to tell Lieutenant Haskin
me that he will report this to the Director in Hashington with
es the request that the Wavy Department be notified of the state-
34 ments that he is making. JI asked W. Listerman for a
7 description of Lieutenant Haskin. He replied that Haskin
iy” ts about thirty-eight years of age, rather well built, wears
a a Navy ring so apparently attended the Naval Accademy, has
ek light-chestnut hair, ts very impetuous and quite emottonal.
iy He stated that while talking, Haskin jumps from one subject
i to another and ts very difficult to pin down.
bes
a I asked Mr. Listerman to contact Lieutenant Haskin
1} and tell him that he would like to know what he had in mind
iy when he made that statement becau ts reporting the matter
: to Washington with the request t#at his; statements be taken
