One apparent external change is the addition of the “Sungsay” script above the from fender side louvers. The 1968 model was devoid of any side trim idenuficabon of markings. © The outside door handie was changed on the 1969 model to the type used for several following years. The door opening mechanism was incorporated into what was strictly a finger depressson grip in the 1968. The depression button used in 1968 was eluninated entirely and replaced with a near-flush key lock. © 1969 is the first year for use of the 350 Ci engine. This replaced the 327 CI engine line winch had been used sue 1962. These were not “all-new™ en- gines, but samply the new generation of small biock V-8 Chevy engines de- twed from the orginal V-8 introduced in 1955. External appearance is very simular to previous small blocks. © 1969 1s the first year for use of 8" wide wheel rims. © in 1969, styhsts incorporated the back-up lights into the inboard tailamps. This was a return to the system used in 1966. A single lamp above the ucense was used in 1967. in 1968, the lamps were under the bumpers. © 1969 is the first Corvette to feature the steering column ignition lock.
