walkout, or with few exceptions, in the subsequent
demonstrations on campus and in Momingside Park, They
have maintained a policy of separatism throughout the
protest often declining to pin the SDS led demonstrations.
MARK RUDD, campus leader of SDS who was charged
with riot and inciting to riot in earlier protesta, remained
away from the campus during the activities. SDS leader said
that his lawyers had asked him not to risk further arrests.

beginning of liberation classes and invited everyone
to proceed to the gya site for poekry reading and a4
picnic. This rally ended at 5:10 PM, The rally was
peaceful and no incidents occurred,

SAS observed at 5:10 PM, on June k, 1968,
approximately 300 individuals march. . to 115th Street,
and Morningside Drive, which is two blocks north of
the gym site and then proceeded to 1l6th Street and entered
Morningside Park. Approximately 1000 people wore assembled
in the park at 6:15 PM, at 116th Street, and Morningside
Avenue, the Harlwn side of the park, to hear speakers
including GHORGE HICKERSON, Communi tz Activn
and FLORYNCE KENNEDY, lawyer for H. RAP BROWN, the Chairman
of the Student_ Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).
