ANONYMOUS THREAT AGAINST
SENATOR EUGENE B. MC CARTHY
On June 19, 1968, the president of the Chamber of
Commerce, Palm Springs, California, made available to the
FBI Office in Los Angeles a letter addressed to Chamber of
Commerce, Palm Springs, California; postmarked June 17, 1968
at Yucca Valley, California. The letter stated, "We got
Kennedy...!--Me Carthy is next....signed~g.o.PWixiecrats
coalition Heil Hitler!". _
Special Agent Anthony Sherman, Secret Service,
Los Angeles, California, was advised of the contents of
the letter at 3:40 p.m. on June 19, 1968 by Special Agent
Leroy W. Sheets of the FBI.
