telephonically furnished the following
formation to the Denver Office:
. At approximately 11:00 p.m., August 20, 1965, a
is customer, deScribed as a white male American, age 30-40,
5' 5" tall, heavy build, balding, wearing dark clothing and
a white hat, who described himself as a "killer," claimed he
had been paid : $50,000.00 by the "syndicate" to assassinate
Senator EUGENE MCCARTHY (D), Wisconsin, when he travels to
the State of Idaho,
At 4:40 a.m., August 21, 1968, the above information
was telephonically furnished Special Agent in Charge Robert
: F. Grube, U. S. Secret Service, Salt Lake,City, Utah, by
SA PAUL SCRAGG. Mr.GRUBE advised that Senator EUGENE McCARTHY
was not currently in the State of Idaho and that no plans have
been furnished to him regarding Senator McCARTHY ' s contemplated
travel to the State of Idaho.

At 8:00 a.m., August 21, 1968, the information was
likewise furnished to Superintendent L. CLARK-HAND, Idaho State
Police, Boise, Idaho, by SA PAUL SCRAGG.
