WANAUZZI ~ VICTIM: SA GILBERT M. CORRANTIA ~ VICTIM; KPO; AFO;: OO: MIAMI __ f On April 16, 1986, SAs Edmundo Mireles, Jr., John FE. Hanlon, and SSA Gordon G. McNeill each underwent additional Surgery. SA Mireles’ surgery involved the grafting of a bone /#; taken from his hip to replace the smaller of two bones in hi left forearm. A metal plate was put in place of the other 1 rger~ bone. SA Hanlon's and SSA McNelli’s surgery was performed ifs effort to remove small bullet fragments that had lodged in their hands and arms. Additionally, surgeons attempted to alleviate the numbness which still affects the lower part of SSA McNeill's body. All three Agents are in satisfactory condition and their Prognosis for recovery is excellent. Judge: Miami's investigation concerning the two subjects has been divided into three distinct areas. The first involves the administrative inguiry being conducted by a shooting review team headed by an inspector from PBIHG. A second team of Miami Agents is reviewing all unsolved bank robberies that occurred in the Miami area. This investigation also will determine if the subjects had committed bank robberies or armored car robberies outside the state of Florida. The third phase of the investigation will focus on the activities and personal histories of the two subjects going back to their high school years. Friends, relatives and former employees will be contacted and interviewed concerning any information they might have concerning the subjects.
