The August 19, 1960, edition of "The Washington Daily
News", a Washington, D. C., newspaper, sets forth an article
under the dateline of Moscow, August 19, and stating that U-2
pilot Francis Gary Powers was sentenced to ten years “deprivation
of liberty" by a three-man Russian military tribunal, ‘on
charges of spying against the Soviet Union. 7
