Warner Frank Sinatra has been ap- pointed to newly-created post of “special assistant to the president,” under a three-year deal with War- ner Bros. whereby he is employed in capacities other than as an en- tertainer, WB prexy Jack L. War- ner announced yesterday. _ ; Announcement was made Aug. 8 that Sinatra would act as a con- sultant on theatrical and ty pix, simultaneous with merger between Warner Bros. Records and Sinat- ra’s Reprise Records. Warner yesterday reported Sin- atra’s services would be rendered directly to him and that actor-pro- ducer would be available for con- sultation and such special assign- ments as would be delegated him by Warner. He also will maintain a close liaison with other top WB officials in new position in which he will be involved, according to Warner, “in all aspects of the Warner Bros. corporate activity.” Sinatra will move onto let wi inatra Enterprises and new of- ices Will pe prepped to house inatra unit.
