The 'People's Voice', until recently ~ a negro Communist publication, on 12/29/k5, announced that SINATRA was to be honored at a dinner held at the Hotel Commodore under the auspices of the publication 'Nev ‘asses! on 1/15/46. The joint . Anti-Fascist Refugee Committee in its !News Bulletin' of 194k b iim SINATRA had contributed $100.00 to that group. - ba n October, ohh, learned that SINATRA waa acheduled ~ b2- bai ma. 2a appe arances at Italian-American election meetings in NYC, one of which had been arranged by the CPA. However, the inft. further learned that 5 id not appear at these meetings. Confidential Informan advised that SINATRA had sent a letter of regret to the CP Headquarters in NYC because he was not able to attend a dinner on 5/9/46, given by the ‘Action Committees to Free - Spain Now', the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, and the American Committee for Spanish Freedom.
