GEORGE JACKSON BRIGADE
The George Jackson Brigade, a Seattle-based revolutionary .
group, has publicly claimed credit for six hank robberies in the
tate of Oregon and a bombings in the State of Washinston.
John Williar/Sherman, an admitted memher of the George
j Jackson Brigade, was indicted and charged with the June 8, 1976
robbery of the Western Bank, Empire Branch, Coos Bay, Oregon.
\ Rita Darlen Brown, a companion of Sherman's, was
\ indicted for the July 13> 1976 robbery of the South Ashland
Branch of the Crater National Bank and the August 2, 1976 robbery
of the Rogue Valley Branch of The Oregon Bank in Medford, Oregon.
Brown has also been indicted for robberies of the First State
- Bank of Oregon, Sunset Branch, Portland, Oregon, on October 28,
1976; the Raleigh Hills Branch of the U. S. National Bank
of Oregon, Portland, Oregon, on January 4, 1977; and the Ut. S.
National Bank of Oregon, Wilsonville Branch, on February 7,
1977.
if Sherman, Brown and Therese aniyGoupez. of the George Jackson
' Brigade resided in Coos Bay, Oregon, subsequen to Sherman's
_ escape from the custody of King County, Washington Sheriff's
Office deputies on March 10, 1976, until June, 1976. Additionally,
the three have resided in Medford, Oregon, White City, Oregon,
and Portland, Oregon. Their last known residence in Oregon
was 1125 N.E. Morton, where they resided for two weeks in
August of 1976.

Utilizing false identification (deceased infant identities)
they have obtained social security cards, Oregon Liquor Control
Commission (OLCC) cards, and Oreaon driver's licenses and est-
toc ablished bank accounts upon which numerous non-sufficient fund
ee ;checks were written in Oregon.

at ! Brown and Sherman have both been indicted in U. S.
uw - 1\District Court, Portland, Oregon, on two counts each of violation
‘of federal firearms violations.
