Assording to St. Louis Police Department apprehension report of the Eleventh District, Complaint Number 91595, subjezt CARL ADSTIN HALL war arrested about 8: 45 p.m. October 6, 1953 at the TOWN HOUSE HOTEL, 5316 Pershing Avenue, eraing ap die investi m was con i ‘gy ‘ roa att. e@rnocn of October 7, 1953: Mrs, JEAN FLETCHER, room manager of the TOWN HOUSE HOTEL, acvised that on October 6, 1953, an individual who gave his name s> JOHN HAGER registered at the TOWN HOUSE HOTEL about 2:30 p.m. After =nowlrg | him several TOONS» he selected Room 324 in the northeast wing ¢* the third floor facing Pershing Avenue. It is noted that thie rocm number formerly carried number 303, that the hotel is under rencvation and in the precesé of renumbering the rocns. At the tim this individual registered he had no luggage but returned approximately 7:20 p.m. on October 6, 1953 at which time two indi ri gu ared and brought luggage to apartment 324, Bellhop in and receiving clerk assisted Cc thsss two men with the luggage. According to statement submitted by taxi cab driver JOHN HAGER, he advised he was the individual who registered for subject HALL at the TOWN HOUSE HOTEL and accompanied him later in the evening when they took his luggage to Apartment 324, Mr, EDGAR B, SHELDON, assistant manager of the CONGRESS Ny > and TOWN HOUSE HOTELS, furnished Sy registration €\ @ name ecard 57 of the TOW HOUSE HOTEL wit HAGER, address 5OL5A Page, St. Louis, Missouri, for Apartment 324. Mr. SHELDON alao presented the TOWN HOUSE HOTEL ledger account for Room 324 indicating that on October 6, 1953 Mr. JOHN HOGES (typographical error or misinterpretation of signature on registration card), rented this apartment for one month, paid in advance, $185,00 Mr, NORMAN K. PROBSTEIN, assistant general manager, CONGRESS and TOWN HOUSE HOTEL, advised that when individual registered for Apartment 324, he paid in advance one month's rent with ten twenty dollar bills.
