Enclosed for the Lab is one cellophane envelope
containing the following: :

(1) An env@lope addressed in script to JOHN
BRYAN, Reaver Street, San Francisco, ~
eontaining four pages: - ; TUOGCY a
(2} A birthday ‘gard entitled "Guess What?";
(3) Envelope postnarked April 3, 1974, addressed
"To the [Tditor: Att: J. BRYAN, San Francisco
Phoenix, 79 Peaver Street, San Francineo,
California";" ~~.
(4) There is also being enclosed one (1) photo-=
stat of the envelope in script without postmark
and the matcrial that accompanied it, and a
photostat of the handcrinted postmarked en=
- velope and its contents.
The first envelope mentioned-with the four pages
and the accompanying birthday card was “a communique from the
Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) received hy the San Fran-
cisco Phoenix on Mrril 2, 1974. The postmarked envelope con-
tains eight pages of an SLA cormunique that was a transcript
.of a tape previously mailed to KSAN along with a portion of a
page of typevwriting addressed "To The Phoenix”.
The II Lab is requested to make typewriter examin-
ations of the enclosed material, furnishing San Francisco with
any information Geveloped concerning the stylc.of type, the
‘Poseibie make of the machine. « Comparisons of the enclosed
