Gallagher to Mr. Gebhardt dated 4/4/74, the General Investigative Division reported results of Dr. Miron's recent briefing on his psycholinguistic analysis of the tape recordings in - captioned matter. Referenced memo requests critiques from various Division representatives attending the bricting. Zi represented the Computer Systems Division. Dr. Miron uses the computer for comparison techniques keyed on word use and distribution in a subject word data base. By use of the computer to sort and list words of the data base into categories previously determined by Dr. Miron, he is able to analyze the word usage in-depth. He then makes his professional decision regarding the speaker based on these listings and his experience in psycholinguistics. : The Computer Systems Division is knowledgeable of similar projects being “ conducted in the Government intelligence community, and the computer ( has proven to be a valuable tool in handling the huge word processing requirements associated with this field.
