This teletype sets forth - results of that interview. Matthews identifies Patricia Hearst and William Harris as the other two participants in his kidnaping. Hearst was introduced to him as “Tania." She told him she had been. an unwilling kidnap victim but had learned to accept the SLA ways. She admitted to him that she had been a willing participant | in the San Francisco bank robbery and she was the one who fired the shots into _.. Mel‘s Sporting Goods Store to aid the | escape of her comrades. Matthews observed ther loading an automatic rifle while he was being held captive. Matthews has been given a polygraph examination which - indicates he was with Patricia Hearst or was with someone he honestly believes to be her. He has additionally picked out Patricia Hearst's voice from a tape recording of-:five white female voices. In an effort to explain why he had not furnished camplete information on 5/17/74, during his initial interview, Matthews indicated he sympathized with Patricia Bearst and did not feel her presence was important.
