Gal gpher 1 - Mr. Morrow S , 1 - Mr. Franck A 1 - Mr. White — Pilon, & Evel. _ SUBJECT: UNKNOWN SUBJECTS (3); 1 - Mr. Thompson / rere PATRICIA-“HEARST - VICTIM Legel Coun KIDNAPING AV Telephone Ria. _ Dirwetar Sec’y At 12:51 p.m., today, SAC Charles Bates’, San Francisco, advised that the Hearst family had been notified that another communication had been received at KPFA. This is the same radio station that received the Original communication. SAC Bates said that Randolph Hearst, the father of the victim, has left his home to proceed to the station to secure the communication. It will take him between an hour to an hour and a half to reach the station and return home. . b SAC Bates said the only information available \ indicates that this letter contains demands such as f payment to all poor people of $70 each, free food, and the like. Allegedly, it is accompanied by a tape cassette of the voice of Patricia Hearst. SAC Bates said that the press is aware of the receipt of the letter as Mr. Hearst, on leaving the house, told reporters who were outside that another communication had been received and he was on the way to retrieve it. As soon as Mr. Hearst returns, San Francisco will furnish full details concerning demands. For information.
