She also advised that she had heard tapes played on television which she was unable to identify as her ex-husband and due to this, she may have prejudged the tapes played for her on 2/19/74. It is noted that the tapes were played by the news media to DeFreeze's mother on 2/15/74, and she advised at that time that the voices were not of her son Donald. The Cleveland Office feels that Glorié DeFreeze may have come under the influence of other relatives, associates, and DeFreeze's mother. GLOVE LOCATED IN VEHICLE IN WHICH VI IM WAS FIRST TRANSPORTED: Peter Benenson, owner of the 1963 Chevrolet convertible in which victim was apparently first placed, has denied any knowledge of the leather and cloth glove found in his vehicle. As investigation has determined, the glove was manufactured prior -to 1969 for distribution by an Indianapolis, Indiana, department store chain; color photographs have been prepared at FBIHQ and furnished to appropriate offices in an effort to identify its owner. ; Benenson vas sfinterviewes in-depth concerning events transpiring during evening 2/4/74, and previous gaps in his prior interview were pointed’out to him. He retraced his route from. the time he left work during evening of kidnaping up until time he went to his sisters after freeing himself from his Chevrolet which was used as getaway car. San Francisco Office (SFO) advised 2/19/74, there is no indication to believe that Benenson, at this time, is in any way involved in this matter. Benenson agreed to submit to questioning utilizing a polygraph. STEVEN WEED, VICTIM'S FIANCE: In-depth reinterview of Weed conducted 2/19/74. Weed admitted that victim had dropped “acid” with him on one occasion and has smoked pot occasionally with him. He related he -began dating victim while he was an instructor at the Crystal Springs School, San Mateo, California, and she was a sophomore student. Victim later went on to attend Menlo Park College and thereafter they moved to Berkeley in September, 1972, where both attended the University of California.
