- as Gy Bates to Gel@rdt memorandun RE: HEARN . LEGAL MATTERS: On 3/4/74, representatives of our San Francisco Office (SFO) met with Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) Jerry K. Cimmet and. Departmental Attorney Branden Alvey in San Francisco. During_ this meeting, the Bureau's Title III request for intercept at three suspected SLA locations was discussed and Alvey offered ‘suggestions as to.information that might buttress FBI's pending request. AUSA Cimmet indicated he felt that data contained in the Title III request could be utilized for request for search warrants and stated he would meet with representatives of SFO on 3/5/74, to further explore this matter. . SFO advised ‘Alvey. was apparently not aware that the request for Title III had been submitted to. FBJHQ.
