On 3/5/74, at 3:17 a.m., Mr.
Associated Press_({AP}), Washington, D.C.,;
833-5310, telephonically advised he was in receipt of
news story from their Salt Lake City Bureau concerning a letter
written to Senator Frank Church by Field Marshal Cinque.

Mr. wanted to know if the FBI had received such
a letter from Senator Church's Office allegedly written by Cinque.
nc. MI =< stated that he was going to call Senator Church's
Press etary even though it was currently 3:00 a.m. singe in
his opinion he thought this was a significant story. Mr.
was advised that he would be promptly recontacted in this regard.
On 3/5/74, at 12:10 a.m., a teletype was received from

Old P oise, Idaho, made available what appears
to be a Xerox copy of letter from Field Marshal. Cingue, in
envelope addressed Senator Frank chuzek Boise, Idaho, postmark

In essence, the letter refers to making a better life
for "Patricia" and states "I am that nigger that is no longer :
just hunted, robbed and murdered. I am that nigger that hunts ,
you now."
Butte Office advised chat telephonically c
contacted Senator Church's Administrdtive Assistant in :
Washington, D.C., who advised four similar letters received by
Governors, New England section of U.S., and suggested letter C
be turned over to FBI. Contents of Butte teletype were relayed — :
to U.S. Secret Service Headquarters, Washington, D.C., 3/5/74,
and copy forwarded to Congressional Services Office. awa
