They have given me some newspaper reports to read about the current practices of psychosurgery and the use of daily doses of-drugs and tranquilizers in prisons throughout the country. I have also been given some journal commentaries about the kinds of conditions that exist in prisons in general _..and in the adjustment center at San Quentin in particular.
