Result of examination:
Test bullets and cartridge cases obtained from the ©
K93 weapon were microscopically compared to the .30 caliber -
bullets, bullet fragments and cartridge cases previously —
submitted in this case without effecting an identification.’
An inspection of the K33 weapon revealed ono - pone eS
modifications similar to those noted on the four .30 caliber... i -
carbines recovered from the debris of the burned residence ae
at 1466 East 54th Street, Los Angeles, California, (the scene: *,
of the May 17, 1974 shoot-out}. It is noted that these weapons {
were .30 caliber U.S. Carbines, Model Ml, which had been modified :
so as to permit them to deliver only controlled full-automatic s
firs. :
The K33 weapon is an unmodified .30 caliber Se,
U.S. Carbine, Model Ml, which is capable of delivering. only — —
semiautomatic fire. :
The test bullets and cartridge cases obtained from
the K93 weapon are being placed in the Laboratory's Reference &
Fired Specimen File. The K93 weapon is being returned to -
the Atlanta Office under separate cover by registered mais. a
