Coun. j ; PERTAINING TO‘HEARNAP -INVESTIGATION Talehone Rat am On 3-5-75, Wayne’Edmonston, representing CBC Radio in Toronto, Canada, and Janet\Leissner, representing CBC Television in Washington, D. C.,\ contacted your (Mr. Moore's) office and requested statements pertaining to the possible presence in Canada of Hearnap fugitive Patricia Hearst. These inguiries were prompted by the arrest on drug charges on 3-4-75 of Patricia Hearst's sister, Anne Randolph Hearst, and two associates at the U. S.-Canadian border at Niagara Falls, . New York. There was press speculation that Anne Hearst may have. _. (\ been in contact with her sister, Patricia, in Canada. On 3-6-75, Assistant Director Moore was in contact with Ron Collister of the CBC Television Network, Washington, D. C. Collister was furnished public source material concerning the ; search for Patricia Hearst and William and Emily Harris together with 35 millimeter slides depicting these fugitives. In addition, he was furnished a tape recording of the voices of Miss Hearst ana the Harrises for use in connection with television news coverage of this matter.
