A check of the apartment, which is an efficiency type consisting of a front room, originally constructed so that a hide-a~-bed could be folded into an adjoining closet, additionally consists of a bathroom and a kitchen-dining area, { the latter being separated by some built-in cabinets. The apartment has one entry way which exits onto the hallway on the second floor of the building. There is a fire escape off the front window. 7 The front door, in addition to having two key locks, additionally had two chain locks on the inside.
