apartment in late August, 1973, and subsequently were in
and out of the apartment to the extent that their actual
apparent time of residence in the unit would probably not
have exceeded two weeks in total. He was unavare of their
whereabouts during the periods of frequent absence.
Following the receipt d the aforementioned notice
-of their departure, they began moving various personal
effects from the apartment in late October and eventually
vacated the apartment by November 1, 1973.
Following their departure he learned that they
had abandoned an old upholstered maroon armchair with tub-
ular legs, a broken small wooden bookcase, and a wooden
box of miscellaneous photographs and trivia. He made avail-
able to the interviewing agents the aforementioned box of
various items, and a receipt was given to him.
v ecalled that the girls‘ apartment was
furnished very sparsely, had no curtains, and that their
bed consisted of 2 by 4's bolted together, with a foam
rubber mattress approximately eight inches thick.
One of the girls indicated that friends (or
possibly relatives) would be visiting in October, 1973,
and a young man and woman, accompanied by a sandy-haired
child, approximately 18 months old, subsequently stayed at -
the apartment for approximately two weeks in October, 1973.
The couple had d gray American model automobile, exact
make of whic could not recall, although he expressed
the belief tha Was probably licensed in another state,
He advised that the man wes a hippie type in his late 20's,
approximately 5'9" - 6', medium build, dark hair. The -
woman was approximately 20 to 25 years, 5'4" - 5'6", 125
pounds, attractive.
He noted that both of the girls, as well as the
‘visiting couple, were generally very secretive in their. way
| of life and that the visiting couple appeared to rarely
ps ~ leave the apartment. .
